Bobz
Bad Habit started in the fall of 2004 with Kevin Clinton on lead vocals, Chris Qualey on guitar and backing vocals, Bob Birtley
on bass and backing vocals, "Dub" Birtley (Bob's 18-year-old son) on guitar & keyboards and Scott Pretzeus on
drums. Kevin played in various bands in the Dubois, PA area and then the Akron/ Canton area. Bob is a seasoned veteran of
the regional club scene. Chris and Scott have played in various local bands together and apart. Most notable, Scott recently
played with Bill - Cleveland's Metallica Tribute band. Scott, Bob and Chris formed the core of Anthem, a Rush tribute band
in 1996.
Bobz
Bad Habit has played numerous shows in the area, starting off at Safe Crackers in Mentor. They went on to play shows at Rock
City and Cabana's in Mentor, Cebar's Tavern in Madison, Scorchers in Eastlake and even headlined the Smoke In The Valley charity
event in Weedville, PA in August '07. The band started to gain a good following and most shows were played to a packed house.
Mere weeks after a Rock City show
in August '08, Kevin announced that he would be relocating to North Carolina to advance his career. This left a major void
to be filled. Many Scene Magazine ads, auditions and months went by. Enter Mary Petras. Mary possesses fantastic pitch and
range as well as the charisma and intensity the band was looking for. She also adds a lot of versatility to the band which
allows for new, more challenging material to be played. Mary has played in various local bands, namely After 5.
Bobz Bad Habit was back out in the
spring/summer of '09 with many exciting changes - the addition of female artist songs, Chris singing
more on some of the heavier music plus playing keyboards on a few songs while still maintaining his guitar duties. The
band enjoyed a renewed intensity and enjoyed gaining more followers.
Now that Spring '10 is just around the corner - BBH is working on reaching
an even higher summit: Adding a powerhouse keyboard player to our group for bigger shows, a bigger songlist,
and more power to rock!
